Three El Merriekh SC Bentiu players invited for national team duties

Three players from El Merriekh SC Bentiu are part of the national team preparing for two Group B FIFA World Cup 2026 matches to be played this month.
Defenders Pal Paul and Thomas Atir, together with Nelson Victor are the three players invited by national team head coach Nicolas Dupuis.
The Bright Star of South Sudan will face DR Congo on March 21st in Kinshasa, and later travel to battle Sudan four days later at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, Libya
South Sudan are placed fifth in Group B of the FIFA World Cup 2026 qualifiers with 2 points after picking draws against Togo and Mauritania, but lost to Senegal and Sudan.
After four matches played Sudan top the Group with 10 points, while Senegal are second with 8 points, and DR Congo with 7 points in third place. Togo who have collected 3 points are in 4th place and Mauritania with 1 point are bottom of the log.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be held in the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

El Merriekh SC Bentiu to face Uganda Premier League side NEC FC

El Merreikh SC Bentiu will face Uganda Premier League side, NEC FC in an international friendly match on Wednesday.
After settling for a 3-all draw against Kampala University FC in another build-up match played on Monday, Coach Ibrahim Hussein will have another opportunity to assess his team against NEC FC.
“I am happy that we are having the opportunity to train and also play friendly matches with teams in Uganda,” says Coach Hussein.
The match against NEC FC will be played at the Nsambya YES Centre. NEC FC who finished second in the 2024/2025 Uganda Premier League will represent Uganda in the 2025/2026 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

El Merriekh SC Bentiu kick start pre-season training in Uganda

El Merriekh SC Bentiu have kick started their pre-season camp in Kampala, Uganda
Under head coach Ibrahim Hussein, the team that arrived on Wednesday started training in Nsambya on Thursday.
“We are happy that management of the team has provided us with this opportunity for a pre-season camp in Uganda. We have some new players and we need to create the togetherness early enough,” says the coach.
El Merriekh SC Bentiu who finished third in the inaugural South Sudan Premier League have made some new signings including; Eric Mbirizi (Burundi), Sareh Ishimwe (Rwanda), Monged Eineel, Ramadan El Faki (Sudan) and Mali’s Sampi Ousmane among others.
The club will also have the opportunity to participate in the regional CECAFA Kagame Cup in September.

El Merriekh SC Bentiu has reinforced the squad ahead of the start of the 2025-2026 season.
After finishing third in the just concluded South Sudan Premier league, El Merriekh SC Bentiu are not taking chances as they strategise for the new season.
The Club has signed Malian International Sampi Ousmane and Sudan international defender Ramadan El Faki.
The talented Ousmane joins from Ghana Premier League side o a two year contract, while El Faki previously played with Tarhuna FC in the Libyan Premier League.
“We welcome all the new players and look forward to seeing you shine in red and gold,” says the El Merriekh SC Bentiu management.
El Merriekh SC Bentiu will also represent South Sudan in the Dar Port Kagame Cup 2025 expected to take place in Tanzania.
