Experienced Ibrahim Hussein is new El Merriekh SC Bentiu head coach
El Merriekh SC Bentiu have announced Ibrahim Hussein as the new team head coach.
The experienced Hussein from Sudan was received at the Juba International Airport on Monday afternoon by several Club officials.
Wali Wunow, the Club General Secretary confirmed that Hussein is now the new coach and will start work immediately. “We warmly welcome the new coach to the club, and promise him a lot of support as we work towards achieving our set targets,” added Wunow.
Hussein takes over from interim coach Richard Justin Lado whose contract was terminated last month.
The new coach has worked at Sudanese side Al Merriekh SC as an assistant coach.
After completing the first round of the 2024/2025 South Sudan Premier League, El Merriekh SC Bentiu are placed in 4th position with 27 points.

El Merriekh SC Bentiu unveils Bebeto Coach Services as main sponsors
Bebeto Coach Services are the new main sponsors of El Merriekh SC Bentiu.
Fresh from winning the South Sudan Super Cup, the club unveiled the new sponsor on Friday in a ceremony in Juba.
The sponsorship agreement is valued at US$300,000 over two years. Wali Wunow Keah, the Club Secretary General and CEO of Bebeto Coach Services, Bol Mut Char signed the agreement.
As part of the partnership, Bebeto Coach Services’ logo will feature prominently on the front of our official team jersey, symbolizing a strong and ambitious collaboration between both parties.
“We are excited about this journey ahead and look forward to achieving great success together both on and off the pitch,” said the Club Secretary General.

Stage set for El Merriekh SC Bentiu, Jamus battle in South Sudan Super Cup on August 8th
El Merriekh SC Bentiu will face arch-rivals Jamus SC in the season opening South Super Super Cup on August 8th, 2025.
The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFF) unveiled the 2025/2026 season dates on Friday including the Super Cup.
Having finished as runner-up in the South Sudan Cup, El Merriekh SC Bentiu will face off with Jamus SC who lifted the inaugural South Sudan Premier League title.
Under head coach Ibrahim Hussein, El Merriekh SC Bentiu are currently holding pre-season camping in Kampala, Uganda.
The team has made some impressive new signings including; Eric Mbirizi (Burundi), Sareh Ishimwe (Rwanda), Monged Eineel, Ramadan El Faki (Sudan) and Mali’s Sampi Ousmane among others.
The club will also have the opportunity to participate in the regional CECAFA Kagame Cup in September.

El Merriekh SC Bentiu terminate interim coach Justin Lado’s contract
El Merriekh SC Bentiu have terminated the services of interim head coach Richard Justin Lado.
Lado who took over early last month had his services terminated late on Sunday night together with the assistant coach John Chal Guot and team manager Ahmed Simon.
Wali Wunow, the Club General Secretary in a communication made it clear it was decision made by the Board of Directors of the Club after holding it’s extraordinary meeting.
He the services of the Club registrar Maboth Maker and Sports Director Malish Kuol have also been terminated.
“This decision has been made in the best interest of the club as part of our ongoing restructuring efforts to strengthen the team and ensure future success,” reads part of the communication.
After picking a goalless draw against Young Star Torit on Sunday, El Merriekh SC Bentiu are placed 4th on the South Sudan Premier League log with 20 points.
