The South Sudan Football Federation (SSFA) has rescheduled the kick-off date for the 2025/2026 South Sudan Premier League.

Kick-off will now take place on September 13th, instead of the initial date of August 21st.

The decision was adopted in the first meeting of the newly elected Executive Committee, chaired by Francis Amin Michael held on August 20th.

It was announced that the change was made to give the new administration time to finalize key administrative and logistical arrangements and to accommodate the FIFA International Window from September 1-9th, 2025, which will involve national team activities.

“This adjustment ensures proper preparation for both the League and our national team players. We want to start the season on solid ground,” said SSFF Secretary General Victor Lawrence Lual.

EL Merriekh SC Bentiu was initially slated to kick start the season with a match against Lion Hunters FC on August 22nd, 2025.
