Mohamed Musa nets hattrick as El Merriekh SC Bentiu go top
El Merriekh SC Bentiu have gone top of the 2024/2025 South Sudan Premier League after a convincing 6-1 win against Olympic FC in a match played on Monday.
Victor Nelson put El Merriekh SC Bentiu ahead after only 11 minutes at the Juma National Stadium.
The Olympic FC team tried to fight back immediately, but missed the target. Mohamed Musa Eldai later doubled the score 10 minutes from full time.
After recess Mohamed Musa Eldai added two more goals, while David Chan Majak and Gaetan Masha also got their names on the score sheet. Olympic FC registered a goal before the end of the match with an El Merriekh SC Bentiu defender Yohana Fanuel deflecting the ball in the next.
Interim coach Richard Justin Lado said he was happy with the way his team handled the match. “We need to keep working hard because this is a League,” added the coach.
The win sends El Merriekh SC Bentiu to 12 points and with a better goal difference than Kator FC who also have the same number of points.

El Merriekh SC Bentiu silence Lion Hunters FC to reclaim top position
El Merriekh SC Bentiu have silenced Lion Hunters FC 4-0 to reclaim top spot in the on-going 2025/2026 South Sudan Premier League.
In their first match of the second round El Merriekh SC Bentiu kicked off on a high to take a 3-0 half time lead in a match played at the Juba National Stadium on Saturday.
Keer Manger Masha netted a brace in the first in the first 15 minutes. After 35 minutes Shaban Hussein made it 3-0.
After recess the Lion Hunters FC team reorganized themselves and defended in numbers, but also creating some chances. Malian International Sampi Ousmane scored El Merriekh SC Bentiu’s fourth goal.
The win takes El Merriekh SC Bentiu back top of the summit with 37 points from 14 matches played. Jamus SC who also won their opening match of the second round few days ago are second with 35 points, while third placed Kator FC have collected 32 points.

EL Merriekh SC Bentiu defeat Al Ghazala to finish top of first round in South Sudan Premier League
EL Merriekh SC Bentiu have defeated Al Ghazala FC Wau 3-2 to finish top after the first round of the 2025/2026 South Sudan Premier League.
Coach Ibrahim Hussein’s side took a 3-1 lead at half time in a match played on Tuesday at the Juba National Stadium.
Ousmane Sampi, Keer Mangar Majak and Nelson Victor Elia were on target, while Al Ghazala FC Wau added one more goal in the second half.
The win sent EL Merriekh SC Bentiu to 34 points from 13 matches played and top of the log in the first round.
Coach Hussein has seen the team collect 11 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat and scored 42 goals. “We are happy to finish top of the table after the first round and we need to keep working hard because this is a League,” says the coach.
Kator FC are second on the log with 29 points from 12 matches played, while Jamus SC are third.

EL Merriekh SC Bentiu have gone top of the 2025/2026 South Sudan Premier League.
The Pride of Bentiu as the team is popularly known silenced arch rivals Jamus SC 2-1 in a crucial match played at the Juba National Stadium on Saturday.
After a goalless first half Osmane Sampy gave EL Merriekh SC Bentiu in the 51 minutes. But the 2024/2025 champions leveled matters 13 minutes layer through Mario Taban.
With 5 added minutes to the end of the match, Burundian forward Eric Mabirizi put the icing on the cake scoring to ensure EL Merriekh SC Bentiu collected maximum points to go top of the log.
EL Merriekh SC Bentiu now top the table with 31 points from 12 matches played. Second placed Kator FC have played the same number of matches and have collected 29 points. Jamus SC who have played 11 matches are placed third with 26 points.
EL Merriekh SC Bentiu return to action on Tuesday against Al Ghazala at the Juba National Stadium.
