Super Premier League reigning champions El Merriekh SC Bentiu have signed Ghanaian defender Kekeli Attor.

“We are delighted to officially announce the signing of Kekeli Attor from Hohoe United FC of the Ghana Premier League,” said El Merriekh SC Bentiu in a communication.

The defender was unveiled on Monday in the presence of Club Secretary General Walai Wunow Keah.

The 25-year-old right-back joins the club on a two-year contract and brings valuable experience, quality, and determination to strengthen our defensive line.

“We warmly welcome Kekeli to the team and wish him great success during his time with us,” added the Club.

He is expected to travel to Uganda to join the rest of the team on a pre-season training camp under the watchful eyes of new coach Jean Claude Loboko. The team is preparing ahead of the new season including the 2026/2027 TotalEnergies CAF Championship League.

Action in the preliminary round of the 2026/2027 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League will kick off in September.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has officially announced dates for the start first Preliminary round matches on September 4-6th (first leg), while the return legs are played September 11-13th.

The Second preliminary round matches will take place October 16-18th (first round) and the return matches to be played October 23-25th.

El Merriekh SC Bentiu who will represent South Sudan will start their campaign in the first round preliminary round.

Group stages are scheduled to be played between November 2026 and January 2027, and the quarterfinals to be played between February 26th and March 7th, 2027.

The semi-finals will be played between April 9-18th, while the finals between May 9-31st, 2027.

Prize money of USD 6 million will be up for grabs for the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League winners.

The management of El Merriekh SC Bentiu have announced that the team will hold it’s pre-season training camp in Kampala, Uganda.

Under new coach Jean Claude Loboko, the 2025/2026 tripple champions will camp in Kampala in July.

“We are pleased to announce that following discussions with club management, the club has officially agreed to hold its pre-season training camp in July 2026 in Kampala, Uganda,” said the Club.

The pre-season camp is expected to help the team prepare physically, tactically, and mentally ahead of the new season. The camp will also help the new coach and all players including the newly recruited ones to build better chemistry.

El Merriekh SC Bentiu who will represent South Sudan in the 2026/2027 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League have recently signed the Liberian trio of James Jatbo, Prince T.K Farley and James Zortiah, and Kenya’s Eric Otieno among others.
